Community safety message - Vehicle crime

Following a recent series of thefts from motor vehicles and reports of vehicle interference in the area, we would like to remind residents to take a few simple steps to help protect themselves from becoming a victim of crime.

✅ Always lock your vehicle, even when parked at home. Double check by trying the handles.
✅ Remove all valuables from sight, including bags, wallets, mobile phones and tools.
✅ Ensure windows, sunroofs and doors are fully closed and secured.
✅ Keep vehicle keys out of sight and away from doors and windows. consider putting them in a signal blocker pouch.
✅ Consider using steering wheel locks, alarms or tracking devices for added security.
✅ Report any suspicious activity to the police immediately.

Many vehicle crimes are opportunistic, and taking these precautions can significantly reduce the risk of becoming a victim. Please remain vigilant and help us keep our community safe by looking out for one another.
